Traditional needling is an ancient Chinese healing practice that uses needles to stimulate pressure points and trigger the body’s natural healing responses. Modern needling, on the other hand, is a more recent development. It is based on traditional needling techniques but has been adapted to include the use of electrical stimulation in addition to needles like we have moxibustion in traditional acupuncture. Modern needling is also thought to be effective in treating a range of conditions and is commonly used to treat chronic pain, muscle spasms, and other musculoskeletal issues. At CNCC, we use both traditional and modern needling techniques based on your patient’s condition.
